Hey Matt, I am glad you like the tag line. lol "Did you delete your aso files?" is the first thing out of my mouth every time something isn't working. There are lots of us flash developers out there just like you and I. The important thing is try not to get all caught up in all the hoopla of what's right and wrong.

Hey, I just found your site(through the FITC 2007 awards), and I have have to say that I completely agree with what you're saying here. I'm in a very similar situation in a lot of ways... I went to a community college for Multimedia(Humber), and I've never done any CS courses, but I've got a really solid understanding of AS2(and AS3). Also, the company I work for(Indusblue, in Toronto) does mostly minisites and games(similarly to Fuel), so I never really have to worry too much about integration and strict rules. I know exactly what you're saying when you talk about the "this._parent" and "_root" stuff.

I also found your tag-line funny, because in our office whenever anything doesn't work when it should the advice is always "delete your aso files".
